Introduction

HeyDidYou ("the App") is a safety check-in and emergency alert tool for Android and iOS, developed by GHCreationX. The App is designed for families and caregivers to monitor the daily well-being of seniors, children, and other loved ones. Your privacy is important to us. This policy explains what data the App accesses, how it is used, and your rights.

No Data Collection or Transmission

HeyDidYou is designed with Privacy by Design.

• Offline Operation: The App operates entirely offline.
• No Backend Servers: We do not operate any backend servers, databases, or cloud storage.
• No Data Harvesting: We do not collect, transmit, or share any personal data, location data, or message content with GHCreationX or any third party.

Sensitive Permissions & SMS Usage

To provide its core safety functionality, the App requests the following permissions:

• SMS (SEND_SMS) — Physical Safety Alert Feature: This permission is used exclusively for the Emergency Caregiver Alert feature. If a user fails to acknowledge a critical safety check-in, the App automatically sends a pre-configured SMS alert to a designated caregiver to ensure the user's safety. This permission is only active when explicitly enabled by a caregiver during the setup process.
  • User-Controlled Setup: SMS alerts are only ever sent to the specific contact number manually entered by the caregiver during setup. No number is assumed or auto-populated.
  • Background Activity: The App may trigger these safety SMS alerts even when the app is closed or not in use, provided a safety timer has expired without a user response.
  • No Interception: We do not read, intercept, store, or upload your personal incoming or outgoing SMS messages. The permission is used strictly to send the safety alert you have configured.
  • No Sale of Data: We do not sell, rent, monetize, or share your contact numbers or SMS data with any third party for any purpose.
• Microphone (RECORD_AUDIO): Used solely to record custom voice check-in messages for your tasks. Audio recordings are saved locally on your device and are never transmitted or shared.
• Notifications (POST_NOTIFICATIONS): Used to deliver safety check-in alerts and persistent notifications.
• Alarms (SCHEDULE_EXACT_ALARM): Used to trigger safety check-ins at your scheduled times, reliably and on time.

Data Security

Because all data — including PINs, caregiver contact numbers, and schedules — is stored locally on your device, your information is as secure as your phone itself. If you delete the App, all associated data is permanently erased from your device.

Google Play Billing

The App offers an optional one-time Pro upgrade purchased through Google Play. Purchase transactions are handled entirely by Google Play. We do not have access to your payment information.

Children's Privacy

HeyDidYou is a tool for families and caregivers. We do not knowingly collect any personally identifiable information from children. All configuration is intended to be performed by a parent or legal caregiver, and all data remains on-device under their control.

Third-Party Services

The App does not integrate with any third-party services other than Google Play Billing for in-app purchases. No data is shared with third parties.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date.
